2010 WALK FOR HOPE FOR SCHIZOPHRENIA

The 2010 Walk of Hope for Schizophrenia will take place at 11:30 am on Sunday May 16th at Metro Hall Square (55 John Street) in Toronto.

It’s that time of year again – time to throw on your walking shoes, ties up those laces and hit the road for the 2010 Walk of Hope for Schizophrenia.  This May, the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (SSO) will once again proudly launch our annual province-wide fundraising event, which for the past 17 years has brought families, friends and supporters together to raise funds and awareness.  We invite you to join us at the Shortest Walk for the Biggest Cause and help us reach our fundraising goal of $170,000!

Each Walk is unique, but the collective goal is the same – to raise funds and awareness to help the over 120,000 people in Ontario affected by this illness.  Funds raised at the 2010 Walk of Hope will go towards the SSO’s education and awareness programs and research.  SSO is a leading funder for research in schizophrenia and psychosis and we provide several educational programs for individuals and families affected by schizophrenia including Strengthening Families Together, Wellness and Recovery, Justice and Mental Health and our Ask the Experts and 1-800 Crisis Line.
